Make sure you are comfortable with basics of Google Sheets. I suggest watching this 15 min. tutorial video which covers almost everything you need. You must know how to do all of the following in Google Sheets by next week:
- Create new worksheet and share it
- Add sheet pages (+) to a worksheet
- Make a copy and rename a worksheet (File>Make a Copy)
- Import a Excel or .csv file into Google Sheets (File>Import)
- Edit and format data
- Add or move column or row
- Highlight and copy and paste an entire sheet (Click cell above A1 to highlight)
- Copy and Paste Special>Values only
- Add basic formula or function
- Add a chart
- Edit and format a chart
- Save or publish a chart from a Google Sheet
- Export as a Excel or .csv file (Download>Select file type)
- Scrape a table or list from a website into Google Sheets
