How to Turn in Your Final Project

NOTE: All final projects MUST be submitted in the following format if you are interested in having them published on the website.

When turning in your final project, create a folder and put all of your media elements in it. Name your folder with your Last Name and one word that describes subject and one word that describes the primary format. For example: BerkeySquareDanceVideo

Make sure every format has a word doc with:

  • Headline with keywords that is descriptive and engaging
  • Byline
  • City or Township in all caps and hyphen to start first line of text (i.e., HAMILTON – Bob Jones, the blueberry farmer…”)

Format Options:

Text article

  • Headline with keywords that is descriptive and engaging
  • Byline
  • City or Township in all caps and hyphen to start first line of text (i.e., HAMILTON – Bob Jones, the blueberry farmer…”)
  • Saved as LastNameSubjectText.docx (example: BerkeySquareDanceText.docx)

Photos to go along with text articles

  • Cropped and resized to max. 700 px wide
  • Saved as .jpg, high quality
  • Saved as LastNameSubjectPhoto.jpg and number if more than one
  • (i.e., BerkeySquareDancePhoto1.jpg, BerkeySquareDancePhoto2.jpg)
  • Put captions in word doc

Photo Essays: A series of at least 5 photos

  • Cropped and resized to max. 700 px wide
  • Saved as .jpg, high quality
  • Name them so they are in order that you want them displayed
  • (i.e., BerkeySquareDancePhoto1.jpg, BerkeySquareDancePhoto2.jpg)
  • Put them in a folder saved as LastNameSubjectPhotoEssay (i.e., BerkeySquareDancePhotoEssay)

Audio

  • .mp3, high quality or spoken word
  • Saved as LastNameSubjectAudio.mp3 (i.e.,BerkeySquareDanceAudio.mp3)

Audio Slide Show

  • Turn in entire Soundslides folder and all contents Saved as LastNameSubjectAudioSS (i.e., BerkeySquareDanceAudioSS)
  • Make sure it contains publish_to_web folder
  • Put headline, byline and teaser in word doc.

Video

  • Large Size  960 X 540, .m4v
  • Saved as LastNameSubjectVideo.m4v (i.e., BerkeySquareDanceVideo.m4v)
  • Still image saved as .jpg
  • Put headline, byline and teaser in word doc.
